SUNSHINE (#31DaysofBlogging)

This blog is a part of a series #31DaysofBlogging … we are going through the year (2015) chronologically.

Hi friends!

Another thing that made 2015 kind of crazy for us is that we stopped doing Song on the 17th in January. If you're new you might be thinking...what the heck is song on the 17th? For the past 6 years, every 17th of the month we post a song to Youtube/FB...either it's a new song we've just written or it's a cover...we've posted songs from backstage dressing rooms, kitchen floors and anywhere else you can record a video...haha...it's been a really fun way to share our music with fans. But, in January, after 6 years, we needed to take a short break. So, we did.

Then in September we started it up again...woohoo! If you're super bored, go to our YouTube page and cruise through the Song on the 17th playlist...there are a bunch of vids.

So, here is our SOT17 for this month: SUNSHINE!

We hope you like the song! It's on our brand new #LULLABIES album which you can DOWNLOAD right this very second. Or, if you are in need of last minute Christmas gifting, you can buy physical copies and they'll arrive before Christmas...but hurry--the deadline is tonight at midnight.

Tune in tomorrow...the blogging through 2015 continues!!!

Love,

JillandKate's New Song on March 17th, 2012-"ONE DAY"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gB_OWOW-TsU&feature=youtu.be ONE DAY

I see you You don't look the same I hear you But your voice has changed I wanted to keep you safe But you're stubborn and strong Think you found what you want And you'll never change

One day you might ask me why I can't tell you how I've tried To keep you from running away but you turned your back on me One day I might tell you why Why I couldn't stand beside you Watch you take your own damn life

I'm sorry this is not enough I'm broken by what you call love You wanted to keep me close When it was convenient for you To have someone to use So you weren't alone

Dancing Queens

Okay, so as you may or may not know, we recently got to make our debut dance performance in a music video. Oh it's true. We, along with the rest of Kelly's band, got to not only perform, but dance in the "Stronger" video that just came out. What a blast. It was probably the most fun video ever! The whole band learned the dance routine and we all put our best foot forward in the flash mob scene at the end of the video. Check it out!

"Stronger"

Just singing our little hearts out.

Happy-excited-face.

New Song on December 17th, 2011

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_urroggO88&feature=youtu.be

I can't figure you out Can't figure you out Tell me what you're all about Can't understand when the words are unsaid Do you think with your heart Or with your head I can't figure you out Can't figure you out Tell me what you're all about

Don't have the time To analyze Just wanna know If it's wrong or if it's right Don't wanna waste my time Trying to read your mind Just wanna know if it's wrong Or if it's right

You and I You and I Is it right

You and I You and I Is it right

Awww...you guys.

It was recently brought to our attention that there are some YouTube videos out there that people have made for us with pictures/videos, etc :) So we did a little searching on the tubes and found that YES, in fact there are videos that y'all have made & so we thought we'd share them. We should really hire y'all for promotion. So fun looking over the old footage and pictures...time sure does fly when you are having fun. -j&k-

5 Things To Do...

If you feel so inclined... 1. Drink More Coffee (try this new creamer our friend Jenny told us about "Natural Bliss"...yum)

2. Watch Revenge (my favorite show on TV right now...if you haven't seen it, go download all the episodes! It really gets you thinking about revenge, retaliation, forgiveness, etc.)

3. Listen to this song and tell me it's not awesome:

4. Read The Hunger Games. (Give into the masses. It's good. I just read the first book in 2 days and am onto the second.)

5. Forgive someone you're holding a grudge against. ("It's hard to give, it's hard to get, but everybody needs a little forgiveness." -Patty Griffin)

This is all optional. I'm not trying to tell you what to do! Haha. As always, returned suggestions are welcomed. What should we do?

Little House on the Medicine Woman

Oh the simple life. I just finished a book that was set in the late 1800's and OMG I kinda wish I could live like that now. I realize they did not say OMG in the 19th century but still....there is something about that sort of simple life that TOTALLY appeals to me. Living off the land. Living in a tiny cabin with a fireplace. Being surrounded by undisturbed nature. Sounds so peaceful. Ahh...seriously...a time period where men got their muscles from hard work like chopping wood and harvesting wheat...come on!! And a time when women were proud if they had a good set of "birthing hips." And carrying a little extra weight meant a nice layer of fat that would keep you warm during the winter. That's what I'm talking about people. Skinny bitches girls wouldn't make it.

You would rise with the sun and sleep when the sun did too. I love the idea of everyone in a household coming around a fireplace at night. Just hanging together. Singing or storytelling. Simple entertainment. I love the idea of gathering food and eating it that same day. There must have been great satisfaction in that lifestyle.

People wrote letters. Not emails or texts. They took out a quill and ink. It took time and effort to write down your thoughts and feelings. How romantic is that? Don't even get me started on how cute I think those wax seal things are. You know when they'd light a candle, let wax drip down and then push their seal on it. Not gonna lie, I totally have one with a "K" on it and I get giddy like a school girl each and every time I have opportunity to use it. It looks like this:

Now, I realize that back on the Prairie with Dr. Quinn and friends life was not always the shiny version it is in my head...you know, full of romantic courtship and apple pies. But, there is something timelessly romantic about it to me. Women wore petticoats and bonnets. They read by candle or lantern light. Ahhh. Maybe it's my alter ego...I live on the road in a fast paced lifestyle so maybe the other half of me wants to hide out in the wilderness with only my loved ones and God's great big earth. Who knows. Maybe I need a vacation in a cabin. With a fireplace.

Haha. Just to get you in the mood, watch these clips...hahahaaa....they are horribly awesome. I mean come on, travel in a covered wagon? Yes!
