What do you do when you wake up before the sun rises because of jet-lag?? You think about random things. One of the many random things is handwriting. A question we frequently receive is, "Is that one of your handwriting on the cover of your album?" (If at this point you are lost...here is the cover of our album and the said handwriting we are talking about..."
Isn't it so pretty? Yes, yes it is. And because it is so pretty and frilly....it is most definitely NEITHER one of ours. So, we thought we would introduce you to the incredibly talented woman whose handwriting it is.
We met Ali through our friend Todd & she was also one of the creators of the "Better Together Tour"...we actually didn't meet her "in real life" until the tour rolled through Nashville at the end of November. Not only is she super talented, she is super genuine & one of the sweetest people around. We loved getting to hang out with her while she was in town. We can't wait to hang with her again and to work with her in the future. She is so great.
So, go check out her website and see all of the awesome things she creates. We know that she has got big things ahead of her because with the amount of talent she's got and a heart that's even bigger she is sure to do some amazing things.
Show her some love.
So, if you didn't know this already, we are so excited about the photoshoot we did with the ultra super talented Todd & Ashley earlier this year! We are getting very close to releasing a new website with loads of fun new pics on it...but because we have no patience we thought we would post this one teaser shot. We were exhausted...and so we thought we'd get a little shut eye on the job :)
Go check out Todd's blog with AWESOME pictures from the Broke* Wrap Party last week! It was an amazing night...let's just say that night Kate was passing out post concert treats..i.e. oatmeal cream pies & happened to hand one to a person who wrote and sings a song called "Making Pies." Haha. A-woo-hoo.
Anyway...go check out Todd James Photography for some sweet visuals.
On August 10th, 2010 Team Africa...a.k.a. Jill, Kate, Todd & Meghan flew to South Africa to hang out with the amazing kids at the House of Hope. We had a fabulous time and wanted to share some highlights with you :)
Playing cards prior to boarding the 15 hour flight. Plus, Kate bought a new camera in the airport and was testing it out.
In the airport after landing, Todd met....drum roll....MISS INDIA GLOBE 2010!!! Who's excited?
Play time on the lawn out in front of the Houses.
Todd giving a little photo lesson.
Craft time with fun foam letters.
We did a painting craft out on the lawn...it was fun...some of the kids even used the paint to paint their faces. Haha.
Noted: Don't turn your back on kids with paint :)
Before we left, people donated clothes, shoes, etc. We divided them into plastic bags & gave one to each kid.
More craft fun--we printed out pics and they decorated their own frames!
We made one to leave with them!
One of the kids taking Todd's camera around taking some sweet shots.
Project OFB continues. We taught them how to make them and read them some of your letters.
Special delivery on some hand made hats!
The kids were so happy!
On our way to the airport we stopped and visited a kiddo that we met last time that is now at a different home. We got him some little shoes that light up! Woohoo!
We spent the last day of the trip in Kruger Park and saw some animals...but we'll share those pics in the near future. Thanks for all of your love and support for the kids.
Much love from super jet lagged jillandkate :)
Ps...our SOT17th is still coming...but Jill lost her voice on the trip so we are on hold until she has it back!
Hey ya'll! In your free time scouring the internets go check out our good friend Todd's new blog. He's a ridiculous photographer based outside of Chicago and you'll love his pics. He's also one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
Go to it & happy Wednesday.
