We want to share a few of our personal iPhone pictures from our time in the studio with Dave Welsh while recording our upcoming album "ELEVEN".... Gosh, we had so much fun making this music and we can't wait to share it with you. Forgive our french, but Dave is a badass....and it was a privilege to be in the studio with him. So talented.

Here and There....

Hi friends... So, since getting off of the STRONGER tour in mid-April, we've been here & there & everywhere it seems. So let's get caught up on the fun things that have been going on...since bullet points are so fun we thought we'd bust some out:

  • In Florida (where Kate wore her happy can read about that here) we did a few songs with David Foster & Kelly. Also performing were Seal, Keith Urban, Ruben needless to say we were pretty excited cause j&k love us some Keith. Anywho...we did the show and for the last song all the celeb performers were singing a song together...and David invited us girls to come out and join them in singing "All You Need Is Love" we did...and for a brief moment our little fantasy of a j&k & Keith duet flashed before our eyes.

I like to think that Keith & I (kate) shared a moment in this pic :) Hahaaaa....

  • After Florida Jill headed back to Nash & I headed to LA with Kelly to do some personal assisting stuff...while in LA I got to see Coldplay at the Hollywood Bowl...we all know my insane mad love for Coldplay & the show was incredible. The Hollywood Bowl is such a magical venue & the energy that Coldplay puts into a show is ridiculous. Seriously. Loved every second of that show. Everyone upon entering got these wrist bands with LED lights and during certain songs they would synchronize with their lighting & light was SO cool. Fun times.

Before heading to Florida we enjoyed a little downtime in the studio in Nashville finishing up our album....which we will be releasing info about in the very, very near future...and we are so excited about it...we cannot wait to share it with you guys. Listening to first mixes of songs we constantly think about you guys and hope that you'll like it. Seriously...some of you we mention even by name...knowing that it's a favorite...hoping that you'll like what we've done with it. So thank you for inspiring us to make music & being involved & supportive. We love you guys.

Driving around Nashville listening to mixes...

Lots of love....

Fun with PhotoBooth!

We are in the studio right now--having fun with producer extraordinaire Jason Halbert. Seriously, he's just the most insanely talented person EVER!  He's also a good friend so we are having tons of fun in the studio here in sunny Los Angeles! We might also possibly convince him to be a special guest star in a j&k video blog!  Oooh laa laa!  While he is pushing important buttons--we've had some fun in photobooth.....hahaha! Love, peace, and all funny things.... j&k

Introducing Ben Kesler & Will Gray.

These are two producers we are working with in Chicago.   Ben Kesler ( & Will Gray ( or  These are great guys and we have a TON of fun with them.  Check out their websites!  But we know, ladies, what you are thinking. Don't get too excited with how cute these guys are...they are both married.  And even worse, they are married to very cool--extremely nice--beautiful women :)

Ah crap.

We forgot to blog.   It's not like we haven't meant to...we really have meant to.  How does time pass so quickly?  We have been doing some fun things...which we shall discuss further in our upcoming video blog.  Video blogs are "funner"--even though funner is not a word.  I, (kate), am typing and jill is not going to like me using funner in this blog...haha....

We are in the studio right now.  Happy Tuesday.

Here are some pics from the past few weeks.... arch.jpg

This is when we were in St. Louis recording...the arch above :) jill-ticket.jpg Jill and I decided to drive from St. Louis back to Nashville because it was cheaper to rent a car and drive.  We were so excited and listening to the sessions we had just done in the studio that little Miss Jill forgot to look at the speedometer...which resulted in us meeting this fine highway patrol man (pictured above) who gave Jill a $75 dollar reminder not to speed.  Yet....we did ask him if he liked what he heard blasting from the radio...he did and asked jill to sign the ticket and then hoped she would become famous so he had her autograph.  Pretty lame...

The next two pics are us at our favorite coffee place in LA.  The Coffee Bean.  YUM.  Jill is posing and I look like a poser.  I'm holding the amazing vanilla powder....and I'm excited about it. Haha...

LA has great food.  The pic below is us at our favorite sushi place in LA.  Doesn't my carrot look fake?

This is how little space they give you on an airplane...

But the flight is worth it for this alone....

You Never Know

Hey everybody...We finally posted a new song on our myspace page. (  The song is called "You Never Know" and it's kind of a mix between pop and folk....that sounds kinda funny but it's something that we feel is uniquely us.  Please check it out and let us know if you love it/hate it or just feel plain indifferent about it :)  Muchos love from...j&k

boarding now....all rows...

we are sitting in the airport right now...about to board a plane headed to st. louis. free wi-fi in the airport rules. seriously. way to go kansas city airport. our flight was supposed to leave at's currently 9:15am...and we are still sitting in the airport. maintenance people are "looking into something." we are flying to st. louis to spend some time in the studio :) i'm super pumped. there is something so exciting to me about sitting here with just the songs on paper and rough demos to show for them, and in a few weeks we will have an actual finished joke...the airline man just got on the microphone and said these words, "well folks, for those of you traveling to st. louis, this airplane's broke." hahahaa....jill and i are cracking up. people are funny. now you might be thinking that being delayed would piss me off...well i've decided that when things go wrong or annoy's way better just to laugh than get all huffy and puffy about something you have absolutely no control over. it's so good to laugh. to laugh so hard that you cry. this happens to jill often. not crying...that happens to me often...but a common occurrence in our group of friends is uncontrollable, knee-slapping, doubled-over-in-pain-because-you-cant-breathe laughter. and when this happens...jill is the one to have little tears streaming from her eyes because she is laughing so hard. i'm the actual crier in the group....sometime when i feel more comfortable with this whole blog thing i'll share about the scrabble incident of 2007. it's now 9:32am and i realize i'm a slow typer. all of these businessmen are on their cell phones making deals and pacing back and forth right in my space. and this businessman next to me must be ichating or something and his computer volume must have been on high and just made this really loud laughing noise...i'm trying really hard no to laugh...he's embarrassed...i'm laughing. ok...enough airport shanannigans. more to come from studio :) laugh hard. -kate
